 Tonight the nation of Israel will light the first Hanukkah candle, also knows as the Festival of Dedication and the Festival of Lights.

Interestingly enough, Hanukkah isn’t a festival you will find in the Old Testament, since it happened post OT times, but you can find it in the New Testament, and discover that even Yeshua celebrated Hanukkah in Jerusalem.

 John 10:22-27 “Then came the Festival of Dedication (in Hebrew: Hanukkah) at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. Nationell bönedag 22 november

Var med i bön!

NATIONELL BÖNEDAG

”Kom, låt oss falla ner och tillbe, knäböja inför Herren, vår skapare, ty han är vår Gud och vi hans folk, fåren i hans hjord.”

Psaltaren 95:6-7

Situationen i vår värld och också i vårt land är mycket allvarlig. Pandemin ökar nu igen, nöden och behoven är stora. Låt oss vända oss till Gud i gemensam bön.

Välkommen att vara med när många kristna i Sverige böjer knä, ber och fastar i rop till Gud:

Vi är i behov av: 

ett stopp för pandemins framfart

botemedel för smittan

styrka och ork till alla som drabbas

tröst till de som sörjer 

att fler får en personlig relation till Jesus Kristus

Söndagen den 22/11 vill vi uppmana alla kristna i Sverige att be en dag. Vi uppmanar dig som kan att också fasta. När du ber, böj då gärna dina knän. Bönen, fastan och knäfallet är goda kristna vanor som inte automatiserar bönesvar men blir en del i din ärliga bön till den Gud som hör när vi ber.

Gud välsigne dig!

Lövhyddohögtiden

 I kväll inleds Lövhyddohögtiden, på hebreiska Sukkot, som varar i 7 dagar  Sukkot firas till minnet av utvandringen från Egypten (Exodus; 1300-talet f. Kr) och är dessutom en skörde- och tacksägelsefest

Från Mötesplats Jerusalem: 

"Israels fester var lektioner i frälsningshistorien. Påsken minde om uttåget ur Egypten. Pingsten om Sinai när man fick Toran, och under lövhyddohögtiden påminde man sig om Guds närvaro under öken-vandringen. Därför bygger man lövhyddor vilket gör festen till något av barnens favorit. Man äter i kojan och uppmanades övernatta i den. Hyddan ska vara enkel. Stjärnhimlen ska synas genom taket som en påminnelse om att livet är temporärt och bräckligt."

Fem dagar efter Försoningsdagen Yom Kippur infaller Sukkot som i Bibeln (Lev. 23:34) beskrivs som “lövhyddohögtiden”. Sukkot är en av tre helger som (fram till år 70 e. Kr) firades med pilgrimsfärder till templet i Jerusalem, och de tre är därför kända som “pilgrimsfesterna.”

10 dagars bön för Israel och nationerna startar idag

Idag startar 10 dagars bön initierat av Global Prayer Call. Bön och lovsång kommer att pågå under "10 days of awe" fram till Yom Kippur

"Through the Jewish calendar and the biblical feasts, the Lord provides a deeply meaningful and precious opportunity for both the Jewish people and the body of Christ to humble ourselves before Him - the creator, judge and redeemer. As GPC, we want to invite you to use this opportunity personally as well as in your priestly calling as you reflect – as a representative of the royal priesthood (1 Pet 2,9) - on the relationship between your nation and Israel. In this unique season of world events, let us put these 10 days of awe to effective use in 2020! Let us use this opportunity to reflect, research and repent for our nations as an expression of the global intercessory body of Christ and ask for HIS redemption and forgiveness for the failings of our nations in their relationship with the Jewish people and the nation of Israel - past and present."

Tyvärr kommer man i Israel i år inte att kunna fira de kommande veckornas bibliska högtider på traditionellt sätt eftersom landet kommer att stängas ner helt pga pandemin.

Idag den 28 Iyar enligt den judiska kalendern firas Jerusalemdagen, på hebreiska Yom Yerushalayim Det är en israelisk nationell helgdag som firar återföreningen av Jerusalem och upprättandet av den israeliska kontrollen över Gamla stan i efterdyningarna av sexdagars kriget i juni 1967. Dagen markeras officiellt av statliga ceremonier och minnesgudstjänster.
