A friend recently asked this thought-provoking question, and as I read it, I thought of when the attacks happened here in the USA on 9-11-01. Churches far and wide were flooded with people seeking answers, but within a month, many of those seeking them had left. Why? There was little preparation for such an event, few answers were found to important questions, and sadly, in too many cases the faithful became known as the faithless.

We, as the Body of Christ, need to know why we believe what we believe and be able to rightly divide truth from error. If we just hear and then parrot what we've heard without true understanding, we will not have the roots within ourselves to be able to endure the heat of tribulation or persecution when it arises. We will wither back and cause others to stumble with us because the word of God has not taken root in our hearts.

We must get our heads around this because it is also reflected in the parable of the 10 sleeping virgins in Matthew 25. Five were wise and did whatever it took to procure extra oil. The other five were foolish. They did not take the time or use their resources to make sure they had enough oil while they waited for the bridegroom's return. They assumed he would come before their oil ran out; however, they sadly learned too late that their thinking was flawed. Jesus stated the door was shut and they were not allowed to enter the wedding! Think about this – the virgins had kept themselves pure, and not once but twice they called Him, "Lord!" Yet Jesus stated that they were unknown to the bridegroom. Their presumption left them out in the dark!

It is my hope that we are intimately known by Jesus and do whatever it takes to procure the oil. We need to understand that in order to have the oil, we must have His Holy Spirit. He is the oil! How we use our time and resources is paramount in these days so that we can be readied for the harvest, the huge harvest that we have heard about for a long time. Let us not lose heart now!

As Peter wrote this instruction to the Body of Christ, the Ekklesia, and I paraphrase:

Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. Do so with meekness, being courteous and respectful to the hearer even if they accuse you of evil.

Keep in mind, it is your heavenly Father that you are representing. He has called you to reflect His light and love to the influx of new converts and returning prodigals. God’s light requires oil and oil requires time, patience, and effort to procure, but it is worth it! Will you be ready for the influx of new believers?

Jag brukar inte ofta referera till tidningsartiklar här på bloggen. Men denna artikel av Stefan Swärd tycker jag var så bra att jag vill tipsa om den:

Att arbeta är en del av Guds plan och kallelse för våra liv. Vardagslivet och vardagsjobbet är alltid en heltidstjänst för Gud för den troende, oavsett om vi är pastorer, förskollärare, lärare, sjuksköterskor, städare, direktörer eller forskare. Vad vi än har för arbete är det ytterst Kristus vi tjänar och det är ytterst inför honom vi står ansvariga för vårt arbete.
Gud vill även kalla oss specifikt till en viss form av arbete, och som troende kan vi uppleva Guds ledning till en viss arbetsplats, vissa arbetsuppgifter eller att starta och driva ett företag med viss inriktning.

Snö i Jerusalem

Jag hoppas länken till denna artikel om det ovanliga snöovädret i Jerusalem fortsätter att fungera för i den finns bilder som nästan känns lite overkliga för den som bara upplevt Jerusalem i gassande sol. Jag har i och för sig varit i Jerusalem ett par gånger i januari, men då var det ungefär som i somras här i Sverige, runt 15 grader sådär...

Cleansing the temple

I Skara kommer nu på lördag en altartavla avtäckas utav Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin.
Tillsammans med ett nytt altare som ska användas vid vigsel av två män nu på lördag.
Ingen utav domkyrkans präster vill ställa upp, så en präst kommer från Göteborg.

While the Jesus manifestation takes place today in Stockholm and thousands of christians will march the city to proclaim that Jesus is Lord, Skara will be polluted by the creative eruptions of a confused and provoking “artist”! I hate to call her an artist as it violates the word to its mosts essence!

In the same time I am thankful that they have to fly in a priest from Göteborg, since no priest from the city want to be part of this shameful incident!
I wished that the thousands of today would bend their march and marched right to the city of Skara to cleanse the “temple” as Jesus did in His days!

Writing from my bed in an early morning, I am fighting an anger to such a disgusting, provoking and blaspheming act, that will be aired all over Sweden!
When will we stand up and shout the NO! When will “Jesus clean the house”! I know… not by might and not by power but by My Spirit… But today, there will be two opposing expressions as we happily march and in the mean time behind our back they defile “the house”!

I pray for wisdom, I pray for Fire, I pray for a powerful awakening as the “heart” of history in Sweden will be shaking by the violence of those who walk in a darkness!

So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. Then He taught, saying to them, Is it not written, My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations ? But you have made it a den of thieves. (Mark 11:15-17 NKJV)

Father, forgive them, because they have no clue of their responsibility to the generations to come!
In the same time, Father please forgive us our swedish lagom silence as we watch and don’t say anything. As we handed over our authority to the worldly systems! Open our eyes Father and make us bold to shape a godly environment that will not allow the defilement of Your House! That your Kingdom come and Your will be done, even in Sweden!
Please, be sure that you all will be there as we will march to Skara one day, to cleanse the temple!

Det finns en blomma som på svenska heter bukettranukel, och som på engelska kallas "Persian Buttercup". I Israel växer den vilt och frodas under torra och hårda förhållanden som få andra växter skulle klara sig i. Det har visat sig att cellerna i rötterna fungerar som en sköld. På vintern när det första regnet kommer så förhindras den plötsliga vattentillströmningen som annars skulle kunna få rötternas celler att brista. På samma gång skyddas rötterna från att släppa ifrån sig det vatten som finns i dem och förhindrar på så sätt uttorkning.     

Vid en mikroskopisk undersökning av cellerna gjorde man en förbluffande upptäckt.

Davidsstjärnan heter på hebreiska "Magen David" vilket betyder "Davids sköld". "Magen" förekommer 63 gånger i Bibeln bla i:

Ps 115.11

Ni som fruktar HERREN, förtrösta på HERREN. Han är deras hjälp och sköld

och

Ps 89:19

Ty han som är vår sköld tillhör HERREN, vår kung tillhör Israels Helige. 

I båda dessa verser används alltså det hebreiska ordet "magen" för "sköld" som på engelska kan översättas till shield, buckler, armed, defence, eller rulers. Visst är det lite intressant att cellerna med just detta mikroskopiska utseende har en sådan uppenbar funktion att skydda växten mot uttorkning så att den kan överleva? 

Jesus säger att Han är det levande vattnet:

Joh. 7:38

Den som tror på mig, ur hans innersta skall strömmar av levande vatten flyta fram, som Skriften säger.

och Herren är vår sköld och vår skärm: 

Ps 18:2-3 

Han sade: Hjärtligt kär har jag dig, HERRE, min starkhet, 

HERRE, mitt bergfäste, min borg och min räddare, 

min Gud, min tillflykts klippa, min sköld och mitt frälsnings horn, mitt värn. 

In i minsta detalj är skapelsen formad av Skaparen själv, 1 Mos 14:22

In addition, one day we will actually rule and reign with the Lord as His royal heirs.
